Abstract:

Certification and proven in use can help us select safety equipment and devices that are compliant with safety standards and that help us build safety systems and solutions that meet the required safety criteria set out in those standards. Users of these devices and equipment only need to understand how to apply certification and proven in use in the correct way so that they can take full benefit and advantage of these solutions. In the end it will save them a lot of time, money and headaches. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to explain what certification and proven in use is, and what role reliability data plays in these solutions.
