Copyright Transfer Agreement
Agreement regarding manuscript
[TITLE OF MANUSCRIPT] (the Contribution)
by [AUTHOR1, AUTHOR2, etc] (the Authors) represented by the Corresponding Author [AUTHOR]
to be published in Inside Functional Safety (the Journal).
This Agreement comes into effect if Inside Publishing GmbH (the Publisher) accepts the submitted Contribution for publication. Please read this agreement carefully. The Corresponding Author can only submit this Contribution by accepting this Agreement. The acceptance of this agreement is necessary to enable the Publisher to disseminate and protect this Contribution world-wide to the fullest extent. If this Contribution is not accepted for publication this Agreement shall be null and void.
1. COPYRIGHT
1.1 The Authors assign to the Publisher all copyright in and to the Contribution, including but not limited to the right to publish, republish, transmit, sell, distribute and otherwise use the Contribution and the material contained therein in electronic and print editions of the Journal and in derivative works throughout the world, in all languages and in all media of expression now known or later developed, and to license or permit others to do so.
1.2 Reproduction, posting, transmission or other distribution or use of the contribution or any material contained therein, in any medium as permitted hereunder requires a citation to the Journal and an appropriate credit to the Publishers or its Publications as publisher, suitable in form and content as follows: (Title of Article, Author(s), Journal Title and Volume/Issue Copyright © [YEAR] Inside Functional Safety®.)
2. RETAINED RIGHTS
2.1 Notwithstanding the above, the Authors or, if applicable the Authors’ employers, retains all proprietary rights other than Copyright, such as patent rights, in any process, procedure or article of manufacture described in the Contribution, and the right to make oral presentations of material from the Contribution.
3. OTHER RIGHTS OF AUTHORS
3.1 The Journal permits the Authors to use the Contribution elsewhere after Publication, including posting it on the Authors’ personal web pages or in an institutional repository maintained by the institutions to which the Authors are affiliated, in other works or for the purposes of the Authors’ teaching and research, provided acknowledgement is given to the Journal as the original source of publication. The Authors are not allowed to use the Contribution for commercial sales or for any systematic external distribution.
4. PUBLISHER
4.1 The Publisher has the right to submit the Contribution to a peer review by members of the editorial board.
4.2 The Publisher has the right to make any editorial changes as may be necessary to make the Contribution suitable for Publication in its Journal or any other publications undertaken by the Publisher.
4.3 The Publisher had the right to publish the Contribution in any electronic or printed form.
5. RESPONSIBILITY AUTHORS
5.1 If this Contribution was prepared jointly by more than one author, the Corresponding Author warrants that he/she has been authorized by all co-authors to accept this agreement on their behalf.
5.2 If this Contribution is owned by the Authors’ company(ies)/employer(s), the Corresponding Author warrants that he/she has been authorized by all companies/employers to accept this agreement on their behalf.
5.3 The Authors warrant that the Contribution is the Authors’ original work, has not been published before, and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere; and that the Contribution contains no libelous or unlawful statements and that it in no way infringes the rights of others.
6. GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS
6.1 If the Authors are UK Government Employees, the Government will grant a non-exclusive license to publish the Contribution in the Journal in any medium or form provided that Crown Copyright and user rights (including patent rights) are reserved
6.2 If the Authors are US Government Employees, and the work was done in that capacity, the assignment applies only to the extend allowed by US law.
