Events: March 2012

21 Mar 2012 - 23 Mar 2012. ERMSAR 2012

Cologne, Germany
The Severe Accident Research Network of Excellence SARNET (http://www.sar-net.eu), coordinated by IRSN (France), is organizing ERMSAR 2012 (European Review Meeting on Severe Accident Research) in Cologne, hosted by GRS (Germany). This seminar aims at presenting the current status of R&D on Severe Accidents both in Europe and elsewhere, as an “open conference”. Therefore, besides the presentation of current work by SARNET members in the network joint programme of activities, non-SARNET organizations are invited to contribute papers and presentations to the seminar (note that the SARNET members can also present Severe Accidents work conducted outside of the Joint Programme of Activities). The detailed programme of the seminar will be sent in the 2nd announcement in summer 2011. The four previous ERMSAR seminars, from 2005 to 2010, provided insights on the network activities and in particular on the Severe Accidents research priorities established in 2008. The global objective of this 5th seminar will be to present the recent progress of international knowledge on Severe Accidents, including of course the work done within the network in the last two years. It will be also an opportunity to discuss future R&D priorities on Severe Accidents, and in particular how the feedback of the Fukushima accident can be taken into account.
