About Me (Bio): Riyaz Ali has B.E. (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from India with special work on
use of control valves for severe service applications. He has been in process control
instrumentation field since past 29 years. Presently, employed with Emerson Process Management - Fisher Controls Divn (since 1993), he is involved in implementing microprocessor based technology for field devices for process control and Safety instrumented system.
He has presented various papers on topic pertaining to “Use of Digital Valve Controller for Safety applications” at ISA, AIChe, Texas A & M etc. His papers on the subject have also been published from time to time in various Control Instrumentation magazine including, InTech, Petroleum Technology, Automation and Control, Control Solutions etc. he also holds four patents. He is also member of FF-SIS committee, which brings Fieldbus Foundation protocol for use in Safety Instrumented System. He also holds three US patents pertaining to Digital Valve Controller for SIS application.
