About Me (Bio): André Fijan is a senior process control and functional safety engineer with more than 25 years of experience. He obtained his MSc. Electro technical Engineering at the Technical University of Delft in 1983. The last 16 years he has worked for Fluor, one of the largest engineering contractors in the world. Since 1996 he has designed Safety Instrumented Functions based upon the IEC 61508/61511 standards for many plants in the oil, gas and chemical industry. He became the first Certified Functional Safety Expert (CFSE) within Fluor in 2006 and has been given training about this subject in various Fluor offices all around the world (Houston, Calgary, Camberley, Madrid, Kuwait, Manila, Gliwice and Haarlem).
