Job Description

The Project Lead Engineer MUST HAVE Working knowledge of:

Process Control - Safety Systems: (On & Offshore)

 

ESD

Fire & Gas

HIPPS (High Integrity Pressure Protection)

SIL Rated Systems (Safety Integrity Level)

SIS Configuration Systems

 

Must have: Offshore experience and current BOSIET (If not current willing to undergo renewal training)

 

Purpose of the Project Lead Engineer (Safety Bias)

- To take technical responsibility within an individual project, for all disciplines.
- To provide technical and organisational lead to all engineering persons within a project team.
- To provide regular ‘technical’ progress updates to the Engineering & Project Manager either written or within a progress meeting.
- To provide regular status reports of project engineering progress for all disciplines to the customer by the agreed time, with a copy.
- To be the primary technical contact point both internal and external within a specified project for all aspects of design and implementation.
- To manage the production and delivery of the Functional design Specification for the DCS, SIS, & E&I elements of a project from a technical viewpoint as defined in the project URS; This includes ownership of all technical documents for all disciplines
- To produce or lead the production of detailed design specifications from the user I/O lists and sequence specification documents.
- To supervise or implement the detailed design, by producing functional drawings (using engineering building tools) to implement control system functions. This generally includes all regulatory control, interlock sequences, function blocks, interpretation of C&E and graphic screen design.
- To produce method statements detailing the tasks, materials and procedures required to achieve objectives on-site.
- To regularly update the Project plan.
- To carry out supervision of system testing either at company premises or the customer site.
- To assist in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of company equipment on site; this could include UK, overseas or offshore sites. So you can check the process and make sure it is how you envisaged.
- To provide technical leadership.
- To be responsible for general competency feedback for all engineers working within your project team.
- To actively motivate, develop and mentor engineers allocated to your team.
Job Qualifications

 

Essential:

- Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering, Computing or Process Control.

- BOSIET and medical certificate for offshore working or willingness to undergo training.

 

Desirable:

- Further qualifications in Computing, Quality, Validation.

- TUV certified status is highly desirable

 

Experience:

- Process control engineering experience ideally within Oil and Gas industry

- Minimum 5 years SIS configuration experience within process control systems

- Proven team leadership skills within a major project environment

- Minimum 2 years complex control and sequencing experience

- Strong commercial understanding

- Ability to give presentations and training
